The StartBlock team, who built their solution on the Waves Enterprise platform, won in the Blockchain Technologies track of the Greenatom hackathon.
In the final of a hackathon run by the Russian company Greenatom, developers from the nuclear industry and other invited companies competed in several tracks including VR, Blockchain Technology and Machine Learning.
In the Blockchain track, energy sales company Atomenergopromsbyt set the task: “Automatic execution of parties’ obligations in energy sales with the use of blockchain technology”.
The jury, made up of Rosatom state corporation’s top managers, announced StartBlock — whose solution was based on the Waves Enterprise platform — as the winner of the Blockchain Technologies track.
In only a very short time, the developers were able to build a working web solution that uses smart contracts and is integrated with energy consumption meter prototypes.
“The fact that the Waves Enterprise blockchain platform was successfully used by young professionals for resolving challenging business tasks testifies to the ease of the platform’s deployment and usage and to its advanced functionality, ” commented Igor Kuzmichev, business development director for Waves Enterprise.
The Greenatom hackathon was the second professional event to feature Waves Enterprise technologies in just a week. Previously, the EasyChain team reached the superfinal in the industrial hackathon ProHack 4.0, run by companies KROK and SIBUR.
As part of the hackathon, professional developers and students from Moscow, Novosibirsk, St Petersburg, Kazan, Izhevsk and other cities resolved real-world, manufacturing/industry tasks suggested by SIBUR, Gazprom Neft, Nornickel, FosAgro, MARS, Rusagro and FMLogistic, applying computer vision, Internet of Things, blockchain and machine learning technologies.
Around 350 people took part in the hackathon, and experts selected the most promising solutions offered by 38 teams, which proceeded to the final.
The EasyChain team chose the Waves Enterprise platform as the technological base for resolving FMLogistic’s task of building a transparent smart contract system for the process of approving the list of provided services.
FMLogistic’s representatives said that the task was fully resolved, indicating the high quality of the solution created in a very short time.
